Route Description
This is a lovely, scenic backcountry road that I drive as often as I can. It crosses the Southwest Mabou River on Long Johns Bridge just past where it starts, with beautiful views in both directions from the bridge; then climbs up to the top of a ridge I call “Mount Glencoe” with a fine vista to the west; and descends into Glencoe Mills, with vistas to the northwest from just below the summit of “Mount Glencoe”, to the east above the parish hall, and to the north from the parish hall.

Notes
The storied parish hall in Glencoe Mills is the site of summer family dances on Thursday evenings and Sunday evening family dances on long week-ends; it is located at the intersection of the Glencoe Road and the Upper Glencoe Road. If you are unfamiliar with the area, I strongly suggest you first drive out during daylight, both for the views and so that you will not become disoriented at night.
