To the southeast, the beginnings of the gorge through which the Chéticamp River descends to the Gulf can now be seen. La Montagne Noire fills the upper right half of the photo; the topographic map leaves the other prominences unnamed.

Le Ruisseau Robert (Robert Brook), which will be familiar to those who have crossed it in the campground behind the Visitors’ Centre, enters the river just beyond the bend one sees at the centre right of this photo. The topographic map shows a road leading along the far shore to the right of the bridge; the photo shows some lights on utility poles in the centre left that probably lie close to this road. I need to do some exploring on foot to see if there are any views of the river from this road.
