This trail head sign greets one just after reaching the summit from the col in the previous photo. This signage is typical of the trail heads, consisting of the CMTC map and other information and signs indicating the trails which start at the trail head with distances to destinations. This trail head also has a trail register, the white box visible on the lower right of the sign’s side; hikers are encouraged to use the trail registers to allow the CMTC to know how many people are using the trail system and from where they hail in order to make a case for some small public funding for the great work they do. The mountain’s name, by the way, is pronounced as [bɛn ˈvɪɾɪʧ] (”Ben Virrich”).
