Erosion on the Campbells Mountain Road

Erosion on the Campbells Mountain Road
Photo 11 of 44: Erosion on the Campbells Mountain Road
Taken 2008 August 6 from the Campbells Mountain Road
about two minutes up the road from the end of its provincially-maintained section

This photo was taken a couple of minutes up the trail from the previous one; it shows one of the eroded places on this section of the road. In the eroded spot in the upper centre of the photo, the running water has carved a channel in the road that empties into the ditch at the left of the road and has taken a part of the road with it; the same is true to a lesser extent in the eroded spot in the lower centre of the photo. Another eroded spot can be seen in the foreground at the far right. Though it is somewhat hard to tell in this photo, the depth of the eroded spots is roughly 30–45 cm (12–18 in).
