Alasdair Fraser, Natalie Haas,
Barbara MacDonald Magone,
and Laura Scott

Master Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser joined Barbara MacDonald Magone for a set starting with Joan MacDonald Boes’ tune The Sweetness of Mary and continuing with strathspeys and reels; Barbara’s accompaniment was “a-rockin’”, with her head bouncing and her body almost doing a dance on the piano bench. Astounding playing by them both! Natalie Haas then joined them on stage for another set to which Laura Scott danced beautifully. For the third set, Alasdair and Barbara played a slow air as a duet between fiddle and piano—again gorgeous playing from both, and finished with rousing strathspeys and reels on which Natalie joined in.
