Taken 2007 August 10 from the Cape Smokey Trail shortly before the second look-off
This view shows the summit of Smokey Mountain as seen from the Cape Smokey Trail shortly before the second look-off. In the centre of the photo, one sees the ravine around which the Cape Smokey Trail has circled. The diagonal gash below the summit is the Cabot Trail on its way down to Ingonish Ferry. The railed footbridge seen in a previous photo is located at the head of the ravine quite close to the Cabot Trail, though I am not sure of exactly where in this view.
