Route Description: The short road is a level one that passes between trees on both sides. At 300 m (⅕ mi) from the Cabot Trail, it reaches the junction with the South Ridge Road. I last drove beyond that junction to the end of Blaze Road on 2010 October 5 and remember it ended at a private residence, but not much else, noting only a “really red tree in poor light” along that section of the road. I have added it to my to-do list to obtain a better description. Its fantastic red maples in autumn, whose colours unfailingly are vivid and bright, constitute its chief claim to fame; many of those are located just off the Cabot Trail on the first 300 m (⅕ mi) of the road. Definitely worth a very small detour just to see them!

Comments: I do not know how this road came by its name; I would guess there might have been a fire there at some point in the past. If that be not the case, then it must have been named for the blazing reds of the maples which are found along it.
