Each year during the Gala Concert, the Cape Breton Fiddlers’ Association gathers to hear the reading of the list of those association members who have passed away during the previous year, to pause for a moment of silence in their honour, and then to listen to one of its fiddlers play a lament in their memory. This year, Father Francis Cameron led the prayer, after which Allie Bennett played a beautiful tribute, accompanied by Janet Cameron on keyboards, as the association’s other members and the directors stood in silent recollection.
