Tribute to Deceased Members

Each year during the Gala Concert, the Cape Breton Fiddlers’ Association gathers to hear the reading of the list of those association members who have passed away during the previous year, to pause for a moment of silence in their honour, and then to listen to one of its fiddlers play an air in their memory. This year, Father Francis Cameron led the prayer, after which Kyle MacNeil on fiddle accompanied by Lawrence Cameron on keyboard played a beautiful tribute, as the association’s other members and the directors stood in silent recollection (Leanne Aucoin, Bob MacEachern, Isabel MacGillivray, Father Eugene Morris, and Blair Mombourquette were unable to attend; Janet Cameron was present, but not on stage, while Trina Samson was on stage, but well to the left of the other directors).
