This view looks across the lower end of Chéticamp Harbor towards the Highlands, which rise majestically inland. One can see the sand bar which connects Chéticamp Island to Cape Breton at the far right of the photo. Point Cross is south of that sand bar and was one of the earliest areas to be settled. The prominent buildings along the shore in the centre of the left third of the photo are on la Pointe-à-Cochons, behind which is the mouth of la Rivière du Platin, over which the Cabot Trail passes on the bridge seen in photo 13 of this photo essay (here it is above the boats to the right of the buildings on la Pointe-à-Cochons.
