Like the previous photo, this one was taken with a film camera and on the same day. Finlay Point Harbour is well protected by the height of Finlay Point itself and by the breakwater one sees at the left of the photo. The gypsum cliffs in the centre of the photo are a blaze of white and draw the eye to them.
Both the harbour authority’s buildings and the fishing boats one sees here attest to the importance of fishing to the local economy: lobster, crab, mackerel, and tuna are all found in the waters off Cape Mabou. The several piles of lobster traps still seen in this photo indicate that lobster season is long done.
