This gorgeous southwest view from St Margaret’s Church in Grand Mira South looks across the Mira River upriver towards Grand Mira North on the opposite bank, where the Grand Mira North Road winds inland of the dwellings seen at fairly regular intervals in the photo. This photo also gives a good depiction of the hills which line the other side of the river.
At this point, the river is 1.6 km (1 mi) across, measuring due east and west across the river. It will begin to progressively narrow as it flows further north towards Marion Bridge.
The Grand Mira South Road becomes a paved road 0.2 km (0.1 mi) south of St Margaret’s Church and continues as a paved road to its north end at Marion Bridge.
