The steep slopes of Murray Mountain rise along the right edge of photo #1, climbing up from the harbour at Murray Point, a bit left of the centre of the photo (the point is hard to make out here, as it blends together with the opposite shore, but if you follow the slope of the mountain as it descends, that will help). The outflow of the North River enters the harbour on the south (far) side of Murray Point.
The view in photo #2 looks across the harbour at the houses in Jersey Cove at the base of Murray Mountain; their sizes can help you judge the height of the mountain here, which the topographical map shows as rising above 300 m (985 ft). A road goes past these houses and out along the base of the mountain towards Murray Point, but it ends before it gets even halfway there.
