In this view to the west from the same look-off as the previous photo, the village of Whycocomagh is seen at the west end of Whycocomagh Bay. The Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 105) runs across the photo on the other side of the Bay. The Whycocomagh Education Centre, site of the Whycocomagh Gathering Celtic Colours concert, is the large building in the middle of the photo adjacent to Whycocomagh Bay. Skye Mountain rises at the left of the photo behind the village while, at the horizon in the center, are the Creignish Hills out towards Glencoe Mills and at the right is Campbells Mountain.
No photo can do justice to the wide-ranging panoramas available from any of the Salt Mountain look-offs; the eye is overwhelmed with wide-angled views such as those an eagle flying above Whycocomagh Bay would have and they go on for as far as the eye can see. I hope these three photos will encourage you to have a look for yourself.
