The greens, tans, and dusky rose hues of this photo leave no doubt that fall has arrived at West Mabou Beach Provincial Park. The prominence at the middle left is Cnoc na Smuain (Meditation Hill) and the Western Coastal Trail can be seen running along the cliffs above the beach at the right of the photo. A picnic table to the right of the trail as well as a number of benches (one of which sits invitingly atop Meditation Hill, but like the others in the scope of this photo, is hidden by vegetation and the lie of the land) offer great places to wool-gather and enjoy the marvellous views of the Gulf of St Lawrence, Green Point, and the Mabou River mouth, as well as of the park land itself and the coast beyond it.
West Mabou Beach Provincial Park is another of my favourite places in Cape Breton; you can find a whole photo essay dedicated to it here.
