Barbara MacDonald Magone
Although born in Detroit, Barbara MacDonald Magone, the daughter of the late John A. MacDonald, a Cape Breton fiddler and founder of the Five MacDonald Fiddlers, was raised among transplanted Cape Bretoners and absorbed the music at an early age from her father, the local community, and visiting Cape Breton musicians. She spent childhood summers on Cape Breton Island and played with many of the Islands most noted fiddlers. She gave us a virtuosic performance on solo piano, playing Cape Breton tunes with passion and beauty.
