This lovely, placid scene (which is greatly reminiscent of a remote Adirondack lake) sits beside the edge of Trout Brook Road shortly after leaving Albert Bridge; a longish narrow cove, named MacDougalls Cove on the Nova Scotia Interactive Groundwater Map, separates a peninsula jutting into the Mira from the main part of Cape Breton Island. The main flow of the Mira River is well to the right of the land showing at the right of this photo.
Just think of being in a canoe or a kayak and quietly manœuvring along these beautiful shores! Would that not indeed be a wonderful way to spend time on this gorgeous river of such varied scenery!
