Thanks to the generosity of friends, I got an evening boat trip on the beautiful Mabou River and out into the Northumberland Strait, during which this photo was taken. It shows the full length of the breakwater, the channel marker, and the sand dunes near the breakwater. The lighthouse at Mabou Harbour Mouth is off the left edge of this photo. It was a lovely evening, with the clear blue sky reflected in the water.
The hills on the horizon at the far left are those behind Mabou village, celebrated in the lovely tune Trip to Mabou Ridge, written by Dan Hughie MacEachern.
