This view from the pier in Baddeck Harbour shows Kidston Island at the left forming a protective barrier to make a harbour that is always teeming with pleasure craft in the summer. The Great Bras d’Or Lake lies beyond Kidston Island and out of view here; the waters beyond the harbour are St Patricks Channel, an arm of the Great Bras d’Or Lake that lies to the north of the Washabuck Peninsula, whose mountains are seen here looming over the other side of the Lake.
Sailing tours on the Lake are available in the summer time from the pier and provide a great way of seeing the Lake and its surrounding mountains from the water.
