This is another view from the Marble Mountain Road, this time showing North Mountain behind the mouth of MacKenzie Brook where it empties into the River Denys Basin. This photograph does not do proper justice to the bright colours which were on the hills this day; perhaps the clouds and reflected light tricked the camera into miscalculating or perhaps the damage was done when the film was developed. Whatever the cause, my memory is that the mountainside was a blaze of bright colours (and this is confirmed by the photo of the River Denys Mouth, taken on the same day); this photo, pretty though its setting is, is therefore a disappointment.
If you look in the middle distance in the middle of the photo you will see the size of MacKenzie Brook before it expands into the wide body of water at its mouth. The Marble Mountain Road is behind this view and the River Denys Basin is across the road.
