Taken 2006 August 6 in West Mabou from the West Mabou Road on the bridge further from the Cèilidh Trail

This view looks upstream from the second West Mabou Road bridge, i.e., the one further from the Cèilidh Trail. The view is of the delta at the river’s mouth, with the river’s second channel, i.e., the one around the back of Nicholsons Island, in the foreground and to the right. The main channel lies across the middle of the photo, across the sea of marsh grasses and minor channels seen in a previous photo.
The Railway Trail runs through the trees beyond the main channel and the Cèilidh Trail (Highway 19) runs on the other side of the trees below the green fields in the background. The first few minutes walking the trail from the West Mabou Road offer mostly tree-obscured views of the Southwest Mabou River, but then one comes out of the trees and has the great views of the Cape Mabou Highlands and the river seen in previous photos.
