This view to the south again shows the Quai Mathieu, this time with the steeple of l’Église St-Pierre rising in the centre of the photo. There’s a fairly good sized convenient public parking lot to the left of the two white buildings right of centre in the photo just to the left of the flags. In high summer, those buildings host a visitors’ centre that provides tourist information and public washrooms. At the edge of the parking lot, one also finds very interesting interpretive panels which discuss Chéticamp’s history, including photos.

The promenade leads to an open, but covered, shell, seen at the far right of the photo by the water’s edge, in which local musicians play some summer evenings; also used for other kinds of summer entertainment, it often draws large crowds to the waterfront.
