The End of the Provincially-Maintained Section of the Campbells Mountain Road
Photo 10 of 44: The End of the Provincially-Maintained Section of the Campbells Mountain Road
Taken 2008 August 6 from the Campbells Mountain Road about twenty-one minutes up the trail

At twenty-one minutes, one reaches the end of the provincially maintained section (at GPS coördinates 46°00.414'N 61°10.608'W), seen in the centre of this photo taken on the return trip, and the start of the unmaintained section, seen in the foreground. Note how the road changes from the two-gravel-tracks-plus-grassy-crown form to a rocky/gravel combination; note also that the brush beside the road has been cut up to the end, but not beyond. The grassy area at the left of the road in the middle of the photo is a turn-around spot and is also suitable for parking one’s car if one elects to drive up part way. Whycocomagh Mountain is on the far horizon.
