Mabou River Serenity
Photo 8 of 24: Mabou River Serenity
Taken 2005 August 7 from the Railway Trail about ten minutes east of Highway 19 in Mabou

The white steeple of St Mary’s below Mabou Mountain is reflected in the Mabou River as it flows quietly by on a gorgeous summer day. The buildings on the other side of the river are in Mabou village along Highway 19, the Cèilidh Trail, which can be seen at the far left of the photo. The extravagant serenity of this scene is to be had for walking ten minutes from Highway 19 to the first of the bridges along this segment of the Railway Trail. How could anyone possibly resist such a temptation on such a beautiful day? But this is hardly the only superb view along this segment of the Railway Trail! Mabou abounds with gorgeous views! And with wonderfully talented musicians and friendly people!
